The In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Public Authority offers a variety of free classes to providers and recipients. The Public Authority Social Worker or community experts provide training related to the caregiving profession. Education classes are beneficial in supporting providers and increasing caregiving knowledge and skills.
CDSS Career Pathways
The In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Career Pathways Program is a program that provides free training to improve provider's skills and knowledge. Eligible IHSS and WPCS Providers can register for the IHSS Career Pathways Program training courses and receive incentive pay for completing specific training courses. Sacramento Public Authority is offering in-person education classes that qualify under the General Health and Safety Pathway and Complex Physical Needs Pathway. Sign up today to take a class on Mobility and Fall Prevention, Professionalism for Caregivers, and/or Universal Precautions.

IHSS Public Authority utilizes Care Academy to provide online training to providers and recipients. Care Academy has over 400 classes relevant to caregiving and aging services. Some topics offered by Care Academy are Nutrition, Mobility, Dementia, First Aid, and much more! Certificates are available after completing courses.
